Powerade Junior Pro Finals Coming Up
This time next week the Powerade Junior Pro presented by Cloudbreak will be into the finals. It’s the 2nd Powerade Junior Pro event and already the competition is expected to be even higher this year. Competition kicks off on Saturday 25th at Sigatoka Sand Dunes.
The FSA junior squad were again hard at training yesterday, this time at Sigatoka Sand Dunes, in preparation for the premier surfing event. The group of 15 junior surfers had their technique adjusted but the main focus was on competition strategies and tactics. Led by level 2 accredited surf coach Romeo McKellar, along with level 1 accredited surf coaches Lesi Navuwai and Inia Nakalevu the surfers were challenged.
All of them were up to the tasks set and good results are expected from many of them. Come down to Club Masa at Kulukulu to watch and cheer on the local Fijian kids as they take on their International rivals. There will be a grandstand to view all the action from, a PA system to hear their progress and local food on sale.
We are extremely thankful for the support from our sponsors Powerade, Cloudbreak, Fiji National Sports Commission and Crows Nest Resort. Your assistance has made the event possible.
The Quicksilver Pro kicked off on Thursday and the World Champion Tour surfers were amazing to watch. Its only a couple of months before these world tour surfers arrive in Fiji to surf in the Fiji Pro at Cloudbreak. Keep listening to ensure you don’t miss this event.
The FSA is conducting the next Level 2 accreditation course for surf coaching on April 8th & 9th at Beachouse. The level 2 course is for those accredited level 1 coaches who have held this first level for 12 months and are actively coaching intermediate surfers. All the topics extend on from the level 1 course and includes video analysis and how to structure programs.
