Farzan Accepts Challenge
Fiji welterweight champion, Junior Farzan ‘The Razor’ Ali has accepted newly crowned WBF Asia Pacific super lightweight champion 23-year-old, Sebastian Singh’s challenge.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Farzan who has a proud record of 28 wins, 7 losses and 2 draws said, he is going to sign-up with a promoter this week and the fight is set for May 20.
“This is the fight the people of Fiji want to see so let’s make it happen,” he said after Singh issued the challenge last Saturday night.
“There’s no point in talking to the media or issuing challenges. It’s a waste of time my message to Sebastian is to sign the contract and let’s make it happen for the sake of boxing in the country.”
Farzan who is going to turn 37 on April 27 said, he is going to put the welterweight title on the line.
“If Sebastian wants to make it big in boxing then he has to get past me first. He won’t get that by fighting those overseas boxers with poor records. Like I’ve said, Sebastian better sign as to make things happen.”
Farzan said, their 14-year age difference is not going to make a difference at all.
“It’s going to be a hell of a fight so Sebastian better come prepared,” he added.
