More help began arriving to the family who lost three sisters in a fire at Boca, Bulileka, Labasa, on Friday.

FijiFirst Labasa co-ordinator, Anil Prasad, visited the family with Hotel NorthPole general manager Kaushal Maharaj yesterday.

“I am here on behalf of the Government and many business organisations to hand donations,” Mr Maharaj said.

“NewWorld Supermarket and Ram Jattan Supermarket donated groceries; Hotel NorthPole made cash donations and when the family is ready to build the house they will donate 500 cement blocks worth of $2000.”

Shiu Kumari speaking on behalf of her daughter, Karuna Kumar and son-in-law Rajesh Kumar said they were thankful for the donations.

However, they still cried over their loss.

The three dead sisters were Kajal, 13, Kareena, 9, and Isha 6.

“We lost our three granddaughters while our grandson, Rishab Kumar, 12, is still admitted at the Labasa Hospital,” Mrs Kumari said.

“The post mortem has been done and we will probably have the funeral this week.”

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the post mortem yesterday.
