The 86,000 sqft of retail, food and entertainment complex is expected to be fully open to the public in the coming days and weeks.
Executive Director of Tappoo Group Companies, Mahendra Tappoo, said: “Tappoo City Lautoka stands near completion ready to rejuvenate Fiji’s second largest city and inject into the city’s commerce, the vitality that reflects its people.”
“While the concept is largely a replica of TappooCity Suva, the signature-grey complex has a good sum of unique offerings that sets it apart.”
Mr Tappoo said the complex offers dual cinema, a premium supermarket and five corporate sports booths overlooking the Churchill Park sports stadium from which the world famous Fijian Rugby 7s stars can be seen performing.”
With entertainment options centred in the lush location with ample parking, patrons are expected to spend more time than the average time at the shopping complex, according to him.
For the first time, the Group expects its walk-in customers to experience an international standard food court.
“The variety of international cuisine will include charcoal chicken, North Indian, South Indian and Gujerati Vegetarian Indian, an assortment of sandwiches, subs and burgers, a gourmet coffee shop of international standards, a delicatessen bar, pure fruits juices and salads, ice-creamy, a unique pizzeria and more,”he said.
Mr Tappoo believes the complex will be a new benchmark for Fiji and is a strong complement to the high-end department stores and speciality shops that are synonymous with Tappoo.
Tappoo Group has definitely not forgotten to ensure that the latest fashion trends whether it be clothes, shoes or accessories are available to its Lautoka customers therefore devoting one third of the retail space to the fully branded merchandise in all categories.
“Destination Fiji handicrafts and souvenir with an exciting Made in Fiji range is sure to be an attraction for cruise ship passengers at the Lautoka wharf as well as tourist day trippers from the neighbouring town and Denerau resorts,” said Mr Tappoo.
He believes this will further solidify Tappoo City Lautoka as the most vibrant versatile shopping location because of its spacious design that will ensure patrons can shop in comfort, rather than navigate through constrained spaces.
The complex will include a premium supermarket, speciality stores and services such as a pharmacies, mobile phone shop, liquor store, a specialist cosmetic store, book store and a hair and beauty salon.
He said these outlets together with the food court restaurants and express outlets are leased out to various tenants and will open for business as they get their fit outs and furnishings completed in the coming days and weeks.
