Tanoalevu and St Christopher fought to a 2-2 draw in the Rewa Foodcity League competition at Saraswati Primary School ground in Manoca, Nausori last Sunday.

St Christopher side was leading 2-0 in the first half before Tanoalevu fought back to level the scores.

Tanoalevu coach Nitan Maharaj said they were capable of scoring more goals and win the clash.

“But it was not to be due to our lack of preparation. This is our third year in the league and in the first year we didn’t manage to get any points but last year we managed to get to the quarterfinals.”

Maharaj said because of his players’ attitude towards training they weren’t able to play to their expectations.

“I’m still happy with their performance in the second half when they tried to equal the score line,” Maharaj added.

St Christopher coach Nilesh Prasad was glad that they had performed well despite the unfavourable ground conditions.

“The boys played very well but the weather condition was bad. Actually they should have stopped the game because the ground condition was not in a good state,” Prasad added.
