The Ba Football side will keep a low profile as they face General Machinery Lautoka in the 2017 Pillay’s Garment Champion versus Champion Series at Churchill Park, Lautoka this Friday.

Team manager Arvind Singh says the side is keeping their fingers cross for the injured players’ early recovery.

Midfielder Malakai Tiwa, defender Remueru Tekiate and forward Laisenia Raura all have niggling injuries.

The trio missed the Vodafone Premier League clash against Labasa and Dreketi over the weekend.

“The boys have joined training today, to add to the on-going CVC preparation and we hope they recover in time for the two crucial matches,” Singh said.

He said playing the Blues in Lautoka on both matches will be a tough encounter.

“Lautoka no doubt has a strong team with the current set of players.

“They are 100 per cent national rep qualities.

“Definitely playing on Lautoka’s turf is not in our favour with their crowd,” Singh said.

The ‘Men in Black’ won the Series 18-times; 1993-2006, 2008, 2012, 2013, and in 2014.

“We will do our best and hope we win another title but we will go in as underdogs,” he added.

The first leg kicks off this Friday, 7pm at the Churchill Park in Lautoka and the return leg on Sunday at 3pm.
