Moala siblings Loata and Filomena Duncan will be looking for their first win in an international event when they take part in the ITTF Oceania Junior Championships on April 13 at the Vodafone Arena.

The sisters who are 14 and 12 years old respectively have been playing table tennis for two years now and are both nervous and excited at the same time about the challenge ahead.

“We are extremely excited about playing in this competition, especially when we will be playing against other players from around the region,” Filomena said.

“We are both playing in the singles and team event and we are definitely aiming for a win even though we know it will not be easy.

“Being young and taking part in this kind of competitions already, I think it will help us grow and get a taste what it’s like to play a professional competition.”

Playing against some of the best in the region, Loata said they wanted to gain as much experience as possible.

The pair will take part in the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Oceania Junior Championships team events and the individual events.
