The staff and management of DHL Express Fiji donated $1000 yesterday to the Labasa family who lost their house and three daughters in a fire last month.

DHL Express Fiji country manager Mark Komene said: “We are saddened by the loss of Mr Kumar’s loved ones and I’m happy that as employees of DHL Express, we were able to offer monetary assistance to his family.”

DHL Labasa agent Shameer Hassan said, on behalf of the company, they presented a sympathy card to Rajesh Kumar and his wife Karuna.

Mr Kumar thanked the company DHL and everyone who had donated cash.

“Right now we do not know when to start building our house because we are still don’t have enough at hand to start from scratch,” Mr Kumar said.

“Also my wife and I  travel daily to the Labasa Hospital to see our 11-year-old son, Rishab Kumar, who is still recovering from major burns.

“It would probably take him another month to get on his feet.”

“We are staying at our in-laws’ place in Boca, Bulileka, closer to the place where our house was burnt down,” he said

“We have so many things in our mind and still mourn over the death our three daughters (Kajal, 13, Kareena, 9 and Isha, 6).

“We hope and pray that no family suffers the way we are currently.”
