A man is in Police custody for his alleged involvement in the death of 35-year-old electrician, Seremaia Vana.

Mr Vana’s body was found by people living by the creek at Kaunitoni Street in Lautoka over the weekend.

Chief of Intelligence and Investigations, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Biu Matavou said: “The suspect was taken in following the post mortem examination which revealed an element of foul play that led to Vana’s death.

“He is currently being questioned at the Lautoka Police Station as investigations continue.”

West Police spokesperson Wame Bautolu told Fiji Sun the victim’s post mortem examination was conducted on Monday.

He said: “The post mortem examination revealed that Vana died of intracranial haemorrhage.”

An intracranial haemorrhage is a type of bleeding that occurs inside the skull (cranium).
