After two days of competition, Navua have bowed out after losing one and drawing two in the Vodafone Muslim Interdistrict Championship at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori yesterday.

Navua drew 1-0 Nadi, lost 1-0 to Maigania and drew 1-1 with Ba. Coach Nasir Hussein said despite not qualifying for the quarterfinals, they are more focused on developing their young players.

“The competition has been very tough for us and we got a tough pool as well so the boys played the best they could,” Hussein said.

“We have a very young side, we only have three or four players who are experienced but the rest of the players are still in high school and the first time for some of them to play in a competition.

“We didn’t come here with high expectations, we knew we had a tough pool and we are focused on each game as much as we could.”

Hussein said winning is not everything and their main focus was to expose their players.
