Ba TIV Sangam team after a lapse of six years scooped the Sangam Convention super premier division title at Subrail Park,  Labasa yesterday.

Ba beat Rifle Range 2-1 with goals scored by Shivneel Rao and Roneel Kumar.

Ba defender Pranil Naidu was named the Best Player of the tournament while Shavneel Naidu got the Golden Glove award.

Ba coach Vishwa Achari said they dedicate the win to all the families that were affected by Tropical Cyclone Winston.

“Last year we couldn’t participate in the convention because our players’ houses were damaged during the cyclone,” he said.

“It is the players’ teamwork, dedication, hardwork, commitment and discipline that earned us the win today.

“We thank all our sponsors including the Minister for Local Government Praveen Bala who was the first to give in his donation and encouraged us to do our district proud.”

Rifle Range coach Vimal Sami, said he was satisfied with the result.

“We played big teams like Suva and Ba but managed to keep up with them. Our lone goal was scored by Don Raj and surely next year we will come in a big way.”

 

DELTA TIGERS PROMOTED

Rewa TIV Sangam team have been promoted to the super premier division after beating Raviravi/Tavarau 3-0 in the premier division final at Subrail Park yesterday.

Rewa’s goals were scored by Ravneet Nandan, Nalinesh Reddy and Robert Appana.

Rewa coach Roneel Ram said this is their first premier division win.

“We thank our major sponsor Dual Construction Services,” he said.

 

TABUCOLA ON TARGET

Tabucola TIV Sangam team beat Nacovi TIV 1-0 to claim the senior division at Subrail Park, Labasa. The lone goal was scored by Sudesh Nand in the last minute of the first half.

Tabucola coach Dewan Chand praised his players for working hard to win the final.

“It took us four weeks to prepare for this convention,” he said.

“We thank our sponsors Auto Spares and Jeet Shopping Centre for their support.

“We don’t have any district or national reps in our team as we fielded our players from Qelewaqa and Tabucola.”
