Moce won the 2017 Easter Cricket tournament when they beat Suva Crusaders in the final at Albert Park, Suva yesterday.

Moce made 194 runs while Suva Crusaders were all out for 69.

Cricket Fiji High Performance Unit manager Jo Rika said they are pleased with the display of skills by the teams over the past couple of days.

“Not only were the finals good but the tournament in general was very impressive,” Rika said.

“We have seen some really good performances as the teams really came out and played to expectations as well.

“This year has been very competitive and that is a good thing because that means that teams are taking every tournament seriously.

“Every game was tough and that showed that the teams came out well prepared.

“Teams will now go back and prepare for the national championship in October.”

Rika said they also used the tournament as a building platform for the national Under-19 squad who will be playing the World Cup qualifiers in Samoa in August.

Meanwhile, the women’s cricket competition starts tomorrow at Albert Park.
