Naiduki Heads Fiji Volleyball
Taitusi Naiduki has been appointed to take-up the role of acting president for the Fiji Volleyball Federation.
This was after Elesi Ketedromo stepped down from the position because of ill health.
“The experiences of the president cannot be replaced and I commend her for her contribution to the administration and development of the sport for the last ten years,” Naiduki said.
Naiduki who has been senior vice–president for the last two years was voted in by the Nadi Volleyball Association.
He is a former national rep and represented Fiji in the national and Oceania level in the 1990s.
Naiduki was also instrumental in the setting up of the Taveuni Volleyball Association in 1992 and the revival of Nadi Volleyball in 2014.
“The role has many challenges especially given the former amateur status of Fiji Volleyball to the current situation where the sport has become more like a business.
“Fiji Volleyball in partnership with Australia Volleyball through the Pacific Partnership programme is working towards improving governance at all levels.
“The challenges to changes is understandable, but FVF will continue to work and improve from the current status as Oceania champions to qualify into the Asian level of competition and then to the next Olympics,” Naiduki added.
