Vunisea Secondary School is geared up to improve their standings in this year’s Coca-Cola Games at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

The Kadavu based-school coach Ameo Matabalei said yesterday that they are fielding 30 athletes and their preparations are on track.

“This is our fourth day in Suva and our preparations started from the second week of term one,” he said.

“Right now the students are looking forward and our main aim is to improve our standings from last year.

“We are aiming to win at least four gold medals. There are 30 athletes which is an increase from last year’s team.”

Matabalei said their athletes got some exposure by participating in the Easter National Athletics championship.

“Most of our athletes are participating in the sub-junior and junior grades so this will be their first time to experience the spirit of taking part in the Coke games,” he added.
