Twin sisters Katarina and Elisabeta Lilicama are adamant of a positive performance at the 2017 Coca-Cola Games which starts tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

The Naqelelevu Island sisters are the trump cards for Napuka Secondary School from Vanua Levu. The duo surprised many at last year’s Games when they caused an upset in the junior girls’ javelin event. Katarina won gold while Elisabeta settled for a silver medal. Katarina then participated in the discus event straight after her first place finishing in javelin and won a bronze medal.

This year the sisters are confident in participating in the intermediate girls’ javelin and discuss events.

Katarina, 16, told SUNsports they just can’t wait to take on the field and battle against the best athletes from prominent schools in Viti- Levu.

“We lifted our preparation level this year especially working on our steps and our throwing techniques.

“We have been working really hard for this year’s games doing a lot of hill runs and weights just to get our body in good shape and lift our fitness level.

“With just one day to go we can say that we are confident and ready for this challenge,” she added.

The sisters are Year 12 students of the Savusavu based- team.
