LDS Students Experience Parliament Process
More than 20 Year 9 and 10 students of Latter-Day Saints Church College visited the Parliament House in Suva, yesterday.
The students were eager and enthusiastic to enter the Parliament House to experience what goes on inside.
Student leader, Adrian Kumar, said the visit was part of their education programme and they wanted to know and understand how parliament works.
“We want to see and know how our members of parliament settle their debates and discuss issues that affect the people, we want to know how they work,” Adrian said.
Adrian said the students were excited about the visit and anticipate to learn more than what they see and hear on television.
Another College leader Vanessa Aitcheson said she was eager to meet many of the politicians whom she would only see on television.
“This is a place where most of us will maybe visit once and this visit will show us how parliament starts on a particular day and how MPs discuss different topics and decide,” Vanessa said.
