A total of 1640 recipients from the Tavua District and 2968 recipients from the Ba District were assisted during this Phase 3 Help for Home Initiative.

Government is expected to award more than 700 recipients over the next two days for the Lautoka and Yasawa district at Shirley Park, Lautoka.

Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation, MereseiniVuniwaqa said: “This third phase is a mop up of those who had missed out on the first phase of the Help for Home Initiative in Tavua, Ba, Lautoka, Yasawa and the Northern Division.

“The Government of the day will keep its promise in assisting Fijian people whose homes have been damaged by TC Winston and will leave no one behind.”

Teams comprising representatives from the Vodafone Fiji Limited, Fijian Elections Office and the Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation were serving in the Ba District yesterday.

“We will start with Lautoka District tomorrow (today) at Shirley Park,” MsVuniwaqa said.

“We are encouraging those that may have been missed out on the first and second phase to take note of the different venues and dates so that all eligible persons are assisted.”
