Hindi Film Produced by Fijian Couple in Aust in Cinemas Today
A Fijian couple now living Australia are making advances in movie productions.
Deo and Kusum Narayan owners of Tri Avatar Productions in Melbourne will have their film, WOH screening in Damodar Event Group cinemas from today.
The Hindi-speaking movie is a debut film for Mr and Mrs Narayan. It encompasses a Bollywood-styled production made in Melbourne.
Mr and Mrs Narayan were both born in Ba and spent their secondary school years in Suva.
Mr Narayan is a former student of Mahatma Ghandi Memorial School while Mrs Narayan is a former Dudley High School student.
Mr Narayan worked in the Ministry of Lands as an assistant accountant and Mrs Narayan worked as an executive assistant to the Commissioner of Insurance at the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
“We are very passionate about Fiji and are thinking of making a film in Fiji in the future,” Mr Narayan said.
He said ‘WOH’ has already had a spin off thanks to the efforts of his friend who building the image.
Brisbane India Times described WOH, as a film which has all the ingredients of a Bollywood film.
It said: “WOH has a lot of social statements and values, which is bound to get the audience thinking about what can be done by ordinary people in the area of improving integration.”
Over 400 people attended the official red carpet release of the trailer and audio CD at the Wheeler Auditorium of Nazareth College late last year.
The lead actors are Taruna Arora and Vinay Chauhan.
