New promoter Knox Entertainment in partnership with Fiji Broadcasting Corporation’s Gold FM are looking forward to what its says is the best festival to date.

“We want to raise the bar for our performing artists in Fiji and hopefully for the public to witness international standard festivals and events through musical performing artists,” said Knox Entertainment co-ordinator and event manager, Ellana Kalounisiga.

The opening joint promotion for the Thurston Food and Music Festival was made by Ms Kalounisiga and Gold FM yesterday at a press conference at FBC in Suva.

Ms Kalounisiga said: “Knox Entertainment is the new kid on the block in event management and entertainment.

“We want to raise the bar for our performing artists in Fiji and hopefully for the public to witness international standard festivals and events through music performing artists.

“On July 15, we will host our first ever Thurston Food and Music Festival where you can expect a wonderful array of talent with a wow factor.

“We will have food from all around the world which will be locally produced and grown in Fiji.

“We will also have children’s activities like jumping castles, face paintings and art activity.”

FBC’s chief financial officer and company secretary, Vimlesh Sagar said FBC was proud to be associated with the Thurston Food and Music Festival which was an event co-hosted by Gold FM and Knox Entertainment.

“This will be the first of its kind in Fiji and FBC’s Gold FM will be the station promoting this event,” Mr Sagar said.

The tickets will go on sale from May 21 at the ROC Market, ROC Café, Ginger Kitchen at Thurston Garden and FBC for $20. Children under 12 are free.

Local artists expected during the festival are Knox, Talei and Nem, Inside Out, Seru Serevi, The Relative, Tom Mawi and Nasio Domoni.
