The Pinto Industries Limited sponsored- Labasa football team are not taking any chances in their first match against neighbours Dreketi on Friday in the Vodafone Fiji FACT 2017 tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

Labasa Football Association secretary Varun Anand said yesterday that they have been preparing well for the tournament.

“Our match with Dreketi is always a tough one because we are neighbours where we always try to outdo each other,” he said.

“But we are not going to downplay them but it’s going to be a battle and we will try to win if we are to start our campaign well.”

Anand said they are building up on their fitness and hope to be in good shape come Friday.

He added that a few of their players had injuries but they are hopeful that they would recover in time for their pool opener.

“We will try our best and our coach Ronil Lal is addressing some of the team’s weaknesses so that we would be able to come out strong during the game.”

Anand said some of the players to look out for are strikers Antonio Tuivuna, Christopher Wasasala and Edwin Sahayam (midfielders).
