Students Benefit From Government Donation

Students from two primary schools in Moala and Totoya have benefited from the boats and outboard engines donation from the Government.

The schools involved are the Navesi Primary School in Totoya and Uciwai District School in Moala

Navesi Primary School manager Pita Ledua commended Government for their commitment in assisting them.

He said the donation would improve the lives of students in the islands especially for them.

“I would like to thank Government for this assistance.”

The donation to both schools he said would affect over 100 students.

In the handing over ceremony at the ground of the Ministry of Education Office (MOE) the Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Mahendra Reddy said that government would uphold the right for all Fijians to have access to education as stipulated in the Fijian Constitution.

“Government is gradually removing all obstacles towards education, we want our future generation to have better access to education especially for those rural and maritime schools,” he said.

“With this donation we will ensure that students get to school on time while travelling to school and back home.”

Minister Reddy commended both the managements of the respective schools present at the hand-over for their continuous support towards providing better education facilities for Fijians.

Government had assisted many schools in the maritime islands and also in Viti Levu and Vanua Levu o the provision of boats and outboard engines to ease transportation for students and teachers.
