Uniting World Church and the Methodist Church in Fiji welcomed its new project officer yesterday.

The 28-year-old Sina Suliano had worked with Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), where she was manager for seven months.

Methodist Church in Fiji general secretary Reverend Epineri Vakadewavosa said Ms Suliano did a lot of climate change activism work for a national climate change movement.

“She also worked seven years in humanitarian response at International Humanitarian Agency.”

Ms Suliano said she was excited about the journey ahead.

“I heard about the position from a friend who emailed the details about the job and once she read through it, I knew it was something that I had to pursue the opportunity.

“I look forward to also participating in the upcoming Uniting World Regional Women’s Fellowship.

“My message to young people in search of work is a long time ago I made a decision in life that whatever I would do, it would also benefit the people around me.

“And that helped me grow and better know myself and I strongly advise young people to live your best authentic life and just make sure that what you do is not only making others happy but yourself happy too,” Ms Suliano said.

Uniting World is an agency of the National Assembly of the Uniting Church in Australia.
