Big Sam Whitelock is back to lead the Crusaders in the feature Super Rugby showdown at the ANZ Stadium tonight against the Chiefs.

Unstoppable and unbeatable so far, the Crusaders are so clinical that it is hard to pinpoint their weakness.

The Crusaders’ scrum is the best in the game complemented with a smart backline boosted with the inclusion of Fijians Setareki Tamanivalu and Manasa Mataele.

Defending Super Rugby champions, the Hurricanes, found it hard to stop the Crusaders’ tight five last week.

And that’s how the game will be won tonight. The battle of the tight fives, most of whom have played for the All Blacks.

The Crusaders will start with Joe Moody, Codie Taylor, Owen Franks, Luke Romano and Sam Whitelock as their tight five.

The Chiefs’ tight five are Nepo Laulala, Nathan Harris, Kane Hames, Brodie Retallick and Dominic Bird will be more intimidating than the Hurricanes last week.

Chiefs co-captain Aaron Cruden and the elusive Damian McKenzie certainly know how to dish out the nasty medicine when it comes to the Crusaders and they proved it in Suva last year.

Fijian rugby fans should be lucky to watch the top teams in the Super Rugby leading New Zealand Conference. They could well play in the Super Rugby final.

New coach Scott Robertson has guided the Crusaders to 11 consecutive wins. But his Chiefs counterpart Dave Rennie knows how to fire up his men to deliver against the odds.

Will the Crusaders unbeaten run end or the domination continue in Suva tonight?  You need to be there before the titanic battle kicks off at 7.35pm.
