The Bua rugby team are raring to take on the unbeaten Rewa side in today’s Vodafone Vanua Championship clash at Wariki Village in Bua.

“We beat Serua at home during the first round of the championship and surely will have the home advantage against Rewa,” says Bua coach Apakuki Tuitavua.

“The boys have been camping for three weeks at the Nabouwalu military camp as they know the importance of winning this clash on their home ground.”

Tuitavua said Rewa have seasoned campaigners and are playing under coach and former Flying Fijian skipper Ro Alifereti Doviverata, which means they are in for a tough battle.

“Our boys have set their eyes on clinching our pool and edge closer to our dream of playing in the top grade. We still respect for Rewa because they have been dominating this competition for the past few weeks.

“We’ve to give our 100 percent and for that the team has been working on rectifying our weaknesses to ensure that we perform better this week. We request all our fans in Bua to come out in numbers and support the boys in this important match.”

At the current standing Bua are on the third position. The province of Bua has been renowned for producing top rugby players like Mosese Taga, Timoci Wainiqolo, Seru Rabeni, Rupeni Caucaunibuca, William Ryder, Ilai Tinai and Savenaca Rawaca. The clash kicks-off at 3pm.
