Today is the moment Vodafone Fijian 7s rep Josua Vakurunabili has been waiting for.

The Wardens Gold forward was one of the 13 players named by Vodafone Fijian 7s head coach Gareth Baber to play in the London Sevens.

Baber said he was impressed with Vakurunabili’s performance during the local tournaments.

“I’d been monitoring him for some time,” Baber said.

The Welshman lived up to his word when he named six players who will be making their debut in the London tournament.

Baber had earlier indicated that he was going to expose the young players in the last tournament of the Series and give them an opportunity to show their worth.

He said this was the best way to go as they work towards next year’s Commonwealth Games on April 4-15 in Gold Coast, Australia, and the Rugby World Cup 7s on July 20-22 in San Francisco.
