The bible sitting intact on a desk inside the half burnt Cakaudrove Provincial Council office in Savusavu this week has been described as a ‘miracle’.

Roko Tui Cakaudrove Filimone Naiqumu yesterday confirmed that the laptop and the bible were on the burnt desk inside the part of the building that was burnt down.

“I have heard of such miracles witnessed by people but never in my life had I thought I would see it before my eyes and inside my office,” Mr Naiqumu said.

“God’s word is precious, and I believe He preserved that Bible that day to implant on our minds that he cares.

“This physical copy of His written word would normally have burned to ashes, along with everything else. God chose that copy as one He would protect from the flames.”

No one died in the early Wednesday fire. Fire fighters managed to contain the fire from completely destroying the building.

“That Holy Bible is used by most of the staff in the council and surprisingly also the iVola Ni Kawa Bula underneath was also saved.

The National Fire Authority is continuing its investigations.
