Alleged Woman Con Artist Is Remanded

A woman who is charged with obtaining financial advantage by deception from three people was remanded by the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.

Kamlesh Lata Arun, 59, of Naisara, Raiwai, will reappear in court on June 29 for plea – before Magistrate Deepika Prakash.

Arun is charged with three counts of obtaining financial advantage by deception.

It is alleged that between March and September 2016, Arun obtained a total of $10,000 to make arrangements for the three complainants’ residential visa to Auckland, New Zealand.

Police Corporal Sanil Kumar appeared for prosecution, while Anil Chand represented the accused.

Mr Chand was not advised if the accused was ready to take a plea.
