Rewa Football president Nazeel Buksh believes the national reps who have rejoined the squad will boost the side when they face Labasa in the Vodafone Fiji FACT semifinals tomorrow at 2pm.

Playing against Labasa will not be easy but Buksh said with the experienced reps back in the squad, they are hopeful of a good outcome.

“We have been training without the seven players who joined the Fiji national squad,” Buksh said.

“We trained for a couple of weeks without them and that has not been easy.

“When we are preparing we need the whole team so we can go through the process together. But for the past couple of weeks we have just been focusing on fitness.

“The seven players are more experienced and more matured than when they left and I think they will be an advantage to the team.”

Rewa will be missing the services of Epeli Saukuru who copped two yellow cards in the pool stages of the tournament last month.

“It is sad but it will not be a setback for us,” he said.

“We have players who are more than capable of replacing him so we are not looking at it as a disadvantage for us.

“This will be a chance for other players to step up and prove themselves on the field because we know Labasa is a very good and tough team.”

The Rewa-Labasa match kicks off at 2pm at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.
