Government MP Balmindar Singh could soon lose his party and Parliamentary membership.

His future hangs on allegations brought to the attention of the party.

He could be given an option by the party to either resign from Parliament and FijiFirst or be expelled by the party and lose his Parliamentary seat.

The allegations mainly relate to his personal behaviour.

The Fiji Sun has made unsuccessful attempts to get comments from Mr Singh over the past two days including a trip to Waito Village in Tailevu on Thursday and a stakeout at his nightclub in Suva the same night.

There was also no response from his phone.

It is understood that he lodged a report of his missing phone at Korovou Police Station.

Yesterday a Fiji Sun team caught up with him near Waito Village, Tailevu.

He was approached about the allegations, but he refused to talk. Mr Singh got into his car and drove off. He is staying in Waito at his partner’s residence.

FijiFirst general secretary and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum confirmed last night they were aware of the allegations against Mr Singh.

He said: “We have been trying to get in touch with him. He has not yet responded to calls and messages.” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said “necessary steps” will be taken against Mr Singh.
