Coach plans to build on depth before Test against Scotland:

Vodafone Flying Fijians coach John McKee is pleased that his team kept their heads for the full 80 minutes despite yesterday’s narrow win over Italy.

“It is a one of the toughest yet entertaining rugby test match that the Vodafone Flying Fijians have ever encountered against the Italians,” he said after the Test match at the ANZ Stadium in Suva. Fiji won 22–19.

“We still need to work on the fundamental areas which were identified during the test match. For me personally one of the great things the team did was that they fought throughout.

“One of the things that we are working on is building our depths and looking ahead to the next game.

It is very important for us to get the World Cup qualifier so we need to take a tough team to Samoa and Tonga to play those games.”

McKee and the Flying Fijians face a mammoth task as they take on a powerful Scotland side at the ANZ Stadium, Suva, this Saturday.

Scotland recorded a 24–19 win over the Wallabies in Sydney last night.
