Veiyasana Reds, a small community rugby club in Korociri in Nadi have finally received their new set of jerseys from merchandise company QAQA.

The team play in the Nadi Rugby Union club competition.

Reds manager Josua Niumataiwalu said they are so grateful to QAQA sports for assisting the club.

“This is our fifth year of running the club and QAQA is our first sponsor to come on board to assist the team,” Niumataiwalu said.

“We’ve a lot of talented players playing in the club. Two of our players have done well so far and we know that there are other players who can follow their footsteps.”

He pointed out that winger Semesa Mudu is currently playing for the Nadi rugby team in the Skipper Cup competition while Netani Dauciri has secured a rugby contract in New Zealand.

“The club has been using one set of jerseys for the past four years. Every weekend when the team play, I’ve to ensure to patch up all the torn jerseys and shorts from the previous game so they are able to use them for the next game. For the love of the game, players don’t care about the torn jerseys but as long as they are able to wear them and play rugby for that weekend. The team are made-up of boys from around Fiji who are living in the area.”

Jacks of Fiji marketing and public relations officer Biu Veikauyaki was honoured to assist the club.

“QAQA is a locally owned brand, locally named, locally designed and locally manufactured.

“It’s a great feeling to see the smile on the players’ faces and the new set of jersey will no doubt bring a new breath of life for the team to compete well this season,” he said.
