Journeyman Nereo ‘The Terminator’ Cakautini has finally got the match in which he could resurrect his boxing career.

The Wainibuka veteran has stepped in to fight hard hitting Matthew Michael in the six-round fight under the Canada Fiji South Boxing Promotion at Prince Charles Park, Nadi on June 30.

This is the undercard to the much awaited 10-round cracker between junior ‘The Razor’ Farzan Ali and Sebastian Singh.

Cakautini replaces Junior Kuar Singh who suffered an injury during training.

This was confirmed yesterday by co-promoter Simon Naushad.

“Junior Kuar Singh sustained an injury to his nose while sparring with Johnny Singh a few days ago, therefore we had to make changes.”

Cakautini said he has been training and hoping to get another fight.

“I want to lift myself to a higher standard and I see this fight as my comeback so I want to put on a masterpiece performance.

“I’ve seen my opponent (Michael) fight but I haven’t fought him but I know what to expect.

“I’m taking this bout as a tough one.”

Cakautini has a record of 26 professional fights, won 10 (7KOs), lost 14 (6KOs) and drew twice.

Main event (10 x 3min): Junior Farzan v Sebastian Singh; Main supporting bout (8 x 3min) Savenaca Naliva v Joseph Kwadjo; Extra supporting bout Opeti Tagi v Abhay Chand; Supporting bout (6X3min) Mathew Michael v Nereo Cakautini, Franco Frazer v Ronald Naidu, Sameer Ali v Krishna Mudaliar, Johnny Singh v Saimoni Ratu, Shamal Ramanuj v Rizwan Ali; (4x3min) Junior Filimoni Naliva v Edriel Thein (Burma), Rahul Krishna v Sachin Mudaliar; Exhibition: Visila Kolitapa v Rosemary Marama, Atisha Chand v Paulini Tauta.
