The Lomaiviti Princess II on Monday left Muaiwalu Port to Vunisea, Kadavu.

Goundar Shipping Limited (GSL) managing director George Goundar said the vessel took Government officials who would be part of the Prime Minister’s tour to Kadavu.

The officials included some education officers who would be visiting schools to prepare for Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama’s visit on July 6 – 7.

He will be opening the school dormitory, library and a walkway for the students of Vunisea Secondary.

Mr Bainimarama will also open an early childhood center at Daviqele village where he is also expected to conduct a talanoa session.

According to Mr Goundar the Lomaiviti Princess 2 returned to Suva on the same day.

It will be going to Kadavu on its normal trip on Thursday.

The Government officials who boarded the vessel on Monday were also booked to return.

When asked for an update on the Lomaiviti Princess IV, he said  they were still waiting for the  propeller, shaft and radar from South Korea.

“All these are air freighted from South Korea to Fiji and will take three weeks,” he said.

He said they had checked the damages and were not serious.

The total cost for the repairs to Lomaiviti Princess IV he said was $200,000.
