It Is More Than Just Play

Just Play Programme is a very effective programme as it not only advocates about soccer skills but it also encourages individual student to develop holistically. It has boosted students’ participation, encourages girls to participate in physical education, improve coordination skills, keeping fit and each session has special message to be delivered to children like protecting themselves, beware of their surrounding and so on. Yat Sen was one of the lucky schools that joined this programme in order to learn interesting and fun activities that can help children. Whether they’re toddlers or in their teens, children develop a natural preferences for foods they enjoy the most. To encourage healthy eating habits, the challenge is to make nutritional choices appealing. Focus on overall diet rather than specific food.

Marama’s advice – “Children should eat homemade meals. Restaurant and takeout meals have more added sugar or salt and unhealthy fat so cooking at home can have a huge impact on your kids’ health. If you make large batches, cooking just a few times can feed your family for the whole week. Get kids involved in shopping for groceries and preparing meals.

You can teach them about different food labels. Make healthy snacks available. Keep plenty of fruit, vegetables and healthy beverages (water, milk, pure homemade fruit juice) on hand so kids avoid unhealthy snacks like fizzy drink, chips and cookies.

Thank you to FFA Just Play Programme and all its financial partners for helping us improving children’s lives through football.
