Coming off from their 3-1 win against Suva on Wednesday night in the Vodafone Premier League, Rewa is motivated for the upcoming INKK Battle of the Giants (B.O.G) next week at Subrail Park, Labasa.

Playing Ba in their first game, Coach Marika Rodu said the morale among the players is high as their focus now is on the B.O.G.

“I think our win on Wednesday night is a good way to keep ourselves motivated,” Rodu said.

“Playing in the B.O.G is a different game all together and preparations for that will need to be focused a lot on the areas we are weak in.

“With the duration of the game, fitness is something that all the players need to have in order to last the entire game but given the time frame we cannot really improve on that.

“Our attacks need to be lifted, especially our crossing and finishing which are the areas I see the boys struggling in sometimes.

“The accuracy of our kicks is really important, we are creating chances in the game but those chances are just a waste if we cannot make use of them.

“Out of the 10 balls, we seem to connect with only two and that needs to change.

“I know if we manage to execute those two important areas, we will be able to see a difference in our game.”

Rodu said going up against the ‘Men in Black’ in their first game will be a difficult one but momentum needs to be high.

“For us, we will be taking each game as it comes and our first game is against Ba which we know will not be an easy one,” he said.

“We need to keep the momentum we had from our win on Wednesday night and it needs to be high.

“We respect Ba just like any other team but we will also be preparing accordingly and hoping for a positive result on the first day.

“All the players I used for the Vodafone Fijian FACT will most likely be the same set of boys that I will be taking to the B.O.G.”
