Samabula youths have started cleaning from their homes in their Fight the Bite campaign before proceeding to the Samabula Senior Citizens Home soon.

The United Samabula North Youth Club secretary, Malakai Gucake said as part of their community service they intend to assist in clean-up campaigns with the institutions within their vicinity.

“We have the Home of Compassion and St Giles next on our list,” Mr Gucake said.

“We had started with our individual homes in eliminating mosquito breeding places and cleaning our surroundings,” he said.

The club has a membership of 57 most of whom are students. It has recently registered under the Ministry of Youth.

“We’re having a business training workshop coming up later this month by the Ministry of Trade and Commerce,” he said

“This is an opportune time for our members to be part of this training to empower them on business initiatives..”

At the end of every month the club is going to celebrate birthdays for its members who are born in that particular month, together with their thanksgiving service.

“Today most of the youth member received their awards for their efforts in the last six months,” he said.
