Vodafone Flying Fijians head coach John McKee knows what to expect from the Tongan rugby team at the Teufaiva Stadium in Nuku’alofa today.

He told SUNsports yesterday this is not his first time in Tonga.

“I was technical advisor of the Tongan rugby team to the 2011 Rugby World Cup,” McKee said. This was where Tonga upset France 19-14 in their final pool game.

The no-nonsense coach indicated their focus is not on the 2019 Rugby World Cup but on today’s clash.

In a move to boost the Ikale Tahi, the Tongan government yesterday endorsed to give each player FJD $5500 for their games against Samoa and Fiji.

Radio Tonga reports the government saying this demonstrates its leadership and commitment to building confidence and investment in its athletes, supporting a strong Tongan sports system to achieve excellence.
