The composition of the Taeko sunscreen qualifies it for a certificate of endorsement from the Fiji College of General Practitioners West.

FCGP scientific research committee coordinator Dr Ram Raju said the endorsement was based on a dermatological evaluation carried out by doctors recently.

“The dermatological evaluation verified the product’s efficacy in both the high sun exposure dry-Fiji region and the high moisture content wetter-Fiji areas, ease of use, minimal stress and no recorded adverse reactions through the study,” Dr Raju said.

“The committee endorses the Taeko product as human and environment friendly – a plus for our personal and ecological health,” he said.

“The sunscreen has an added advantage for people with drier skin – a great skin hydrator.”

Hakuto Company Limited assistant manager Sharoon Ali said the products have been well received in Fiji, Japan and the rest of the world.

“Taeko produces cosmetics in three principles: primarily water protector, water base and stress free,” Mr Ali said.

“The Taeko sunscreen is a multi-purpose product apart from a sunscreen with high performance it is also a moisturiser for the day and foundation primer,” he said.

Mr Ali added that the Taeko liquid foundation also acts as a support to block ultraviolet rays.

Taeko is available at Tappoo store Fiji wide.

About the product:

The product is made in Japan and named after the developer Taeko Nishiama who has worked with cosmetics for over 20 years.

She has launched a brilliant collection of sun screen and serial liquid foundation.

Taeko is a product of Hakuto one of Japan’s leading companies listed under the Tokyo stock exchange.

Hakuto has two divisions which includes an electronic division and a chemical division.

It has an annual sale of a 130 billion Yen which is approximately FJD$2.2 billion.

General Manager Dr Yashuhiro Nohata who works closely on the cosmetic line declares that Taeko’s secret to success lies in the ingredients they use.

Mr Ali added that, “Common sun screens are mostly silicon based, however Taeko cosmetics are easily spread and not sticky.

They also supply water and moisture which the skin needs.

“Other international brands use the same principle of utilising Alcaligenes Polysaccharides but Taeko is different; the difference is in their emulsification technology.”

Cosmetics are free from Ultraviolet absorbers, volatile oils, petroleum based surfactant, parabens, and ethanol.

The Private Sector has issued a certificate of endorsement that the TAEKO sunscreen is compliant and user friendly with the Fijian climate.

The Western general practitioners of the (Fiji College of General Practitioners) this week endorsed the product.
