Vodafone Flying Fijians head coach, John McKee is expecting his side to be sharper against Samoa at Apia Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking to SUNsports after their 14-10 win over Tonga at the Teufaiva Stadium, Nuku’alofa yesterday, he pointed that although they played well at times, they did not execute their moves well.

“We came here knowing that it was going to be a tough game as the Tongans threw everything at us,” McKee said.

“We’ll have our recovery session tomorrow morning as I will look into today’s game before we will work on it.

“So we should be a little sharper against Samoa.”

McKee said that although they’ve accomplished their goal by coming out as Oceania’s No.1 in the 2019 Rugby World Cup qualifiers, they still need to finish as Oceania’s champions by winning the Pacific Nations Cup.

“I will need to go through the video to have a look at our scrums and the penalties awarded against us.”

INJURIES CONCERN

McKee confirmed halfback Serupepeli Vularika had to undergo x-ray on his injured wrist.

“It’s just precautionary measure and players should be all fine for the Samoa game.”
