Children can expect something different from the Kids Corner at Saturday’s much awaited Thurston Food and Music Festival.

Kids Corner owner, Lilly Pene, said they had paid activities like stencil printing on tee-shirts.

“Our recycle activity will be making pencil cases out of plastic bottles and bottle bag,” she said.

They also have a photo frame activity where they get to make and design their own photo frames either for themselves or as gifts.”

There will also be a tie and dye activity and a Treasure Hunt for which children will need to pre-register.

Ms Pene joined the RoC Market three years ago selling crocheted rope baskets, tie and dye sulus and fabrics.

“I did this as a hobby re-purposing bed sheets, pillow cases and I also began making jewelry as well and hope one day I can do this full-time,” she said.

She is excited about being part of the festival and for those still undecided she adds: “Don’t regret later, buy a ticket and be a part of something amazing.”

About 1500 people are expected at the festival and the first major event by Knox Entertainment.

Tickets are on sale at the RoC Café, Ginger Kitchen at the Fiji Museum, and Fiji Broadcasting Corporation. Admission is free for children under 12 years.
