MV Brianna And Sea Rakino On July Franchise Trips

The MV Brianna and MV Sea Rakino will be on their franchise runs this month.

Victoria Marine Limited manager shipping Captain Pita Colamoto said the MV Brianna for its franchise trip on July 11 would serve Vanuavatu, Nayau, Lakeba, Oneata, Komo, Moce, Namuka and Kabara.

“The MV Brianna leaves of Upper Southern Lau – Vanuavatu, Nayau, Lakeba, Oneata, Komo, Moce, Namuka and Kabara on July 11,” Captain Colamoto said.

He said when it returned the MV Brianna would leave for its franchise trip to Vanuabalavu – Yacata, Avea, Mavana, Lomaloma, Cikobia, Tuvuca and Cicia.

Their other ship the MV Sea Rakinio he said would serve its franchise run to Yasawa on July 11.

“The Sea Rakino will leave Lautoka on July 11 to Yalobi, Viwa, Nacula, Naisilisili, Navotua, Nabukeru, Yasawa-i-rara and Bikama.”

He said they were thankful to the Government for the franchise trips especially when trips to these islands were usual unprofitable.

Meanwhile the Fiji Shipping Franchise Scheme is the shipping assistance provided by Government for shipping services in uneconomical shipping routes in the Maritime province.

The total assistance allocated by Government in the 2013 Budget was $1.5M.

Cabinet Decision 23 of Jan 2013 – the administration of the Franchise Scheme be transferred to the Ministry of Works, Transport and Public Utilities.
