The National Productivity Training Centre plans to facilitate more programmes for smaller scale entrepreneurs’ this year.

Deputy-Director for Business Information Technology Sachin Deo made the statement during the NPTC’s Division of Executive Management and Hospitality and Tourism mini graduation at the FNU Namaka Campus yesterday.

“We intend to facilitate more programmes for smaller scale entrepreneurs’ this year, with especially tailor-made programmes earmarked for them,” Mr Deo said.

Training to be more effective

The call by industry leaders to design education and training to be in line with recent industry trends is a challenge the NPTC is taking on. Recently Industry Discussion Forums have been held at various venues nationwide in which all the senior management staff from industries participated. Discussions were held on how to make our trainings more effective and recent trends in industry.

“We are proud to be associated with the industry and also work with them to help us develop specialized training programmes that meet their needs.

“As we all know there is a gap between the demand and supply of skilled workers, such training will fill that gap leading to customers especially in the hotel & tourism sector to experience a better and improved service compared to the past and what it is today.”
