The Fiji Football Association has called on Labasa fans to turn up if they want to see more tournaments at Subrail Park in Labasa in the future

Speaking at the official opening of the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants tournament yesterday, Fiji Football acting president Tarunesh Reddy was disappointed with the turnout.

Reddy said Fiji FA continues to look into having football tournaments in Labasa but this will depend on the services provided by the Labasa Town Council and the people’s support.

“We will have a tournament in the North every year, provided the Special Administrator provides proper facilities,” Reddy said.

“We will need the support of the Labasa fans for such tournaments.

“If they continue to support we will continue to have tournaments here.”

Special Administrator Labasa/ Savusavu Vijay Chand says this is the second year Labasa has hosted the first round of the B.O.G and acknowledges the support of Fiji FA.

Chand said Labasa was prepared to host bigger and better matches in the future.

In regards to anti- doping tests, Reddy said this will continue just as it was done during the Vodafone Fijian FACT last month.

He said this will be done for all matches and a procedure is being followed whereby names will be picked at random from different teams.

Results of the anti-doping tests conducted yesterday would be released today.

Chief Guest deputy Indian High Commissioner to Fiji Ram Yadav said India continues to look forward to creating better relations with Fiji.
