Nasinu Secondary School won the Southern Zone Secondary Schools Under-18 title after they defeated Suva Grammar 10-3 at Bidesi Park yesterday.

And they will play St John’s College in the national quarterfinals on July 29 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Marist Brothers High School has also qualified for the Coke Zero Deans national quarters after thrashing John Wesley College 32-0 in the playoff.

In the Eastern Zone, Ratu Kadavulevu School defeated Queen Victoria School 9-8 in the U18 final while St John’s College staged the upset of the day defeating Lelean Memorial School 22-19 in the playoff.

NSS U18 coach Isikeli Kalouniviti was overwhelmed with the win.

“I am really grateful to the boys,” Kalouniviti said.

“Our aim was to get through to the national quarterfinals which we accomplished,” he said.

“We would like thank the school management and the teachers for their support throughout the season.”
