Vicky clocked 11.158 seconds just four seconds shy of Ravin while Lawrence Ah Sam finished third clocking 11.72.

The first event for 2017 for Fiji Car Club not only saw an upset but also achieved a huge milestone with over 1000 spectators turning up to watch the race despite the cold weather.

Club president Raizal Haniff said the first event was a success.

“It has been a very successful one, we have over 50 cars but not only that, we have over 1000 spectators which is something I am very happy about,” Haniff said.

“After the massive sponsorship by Pacific Energy, the FCC is going in the right direction as far as organising events and making it bigger.

Haniff has stressed to young drivers to join the FCC.

“We noticed that the seven months that the race was not going on there was a lot of accidents,” he said.

“What we are promoting is that young drivers come out and race here on our track in a safe and controlled environment and not on the public road.”

The next drag race is scheduled for next month.
