Liahona I Leaves For Lower Southern Lau

The Liahona I left for Lower Southern Lau yesterday.

This was confirmed to the Fiji Sun by the South Island Shipping operation is manager Mr Ben Cavu.

He said this was a franchise trip.

According to Mr Cavu the Liahona I would return to Suva on July 22.

On July 11 he said the Liahona  I went on its franchise trip to the Lomaiviti group – Gau, Batiki, Nairai and returned on July 14.

Cargoes to the Lomaiviti islands he said included groceries, hardware, building materials and fuel.

Mr Cavu said the Liahona II left on its normal trip to Vunisea on July 11.

He said it returned to Suva on July 12 and went to the Babaceva district – Dravuni, Bulia, Kavala Bay, Kadavu Koro and Burelevu on July 14 to 15.

Mr Cavu said shipping competition was tough but they had managed to serve the people in their allocated island routes.
