The Vereti Dickson-captained Jack’s Nadi side will be in full force to end their 20 years winless run in the 2017 INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants.

The side last won the title in 1996 when they trounced Tavua 3-1 at Govind Park in Ba.

But the side will have to beat this year’s most impressive team Lautoka at Churchill Park in Lautoka on Saturday, 3pm.

In doubt are striker Andrew Naicker and in form Josevata Dugucagi who were as injured last weekend in Labasa.

“We had our first run on Monday. There are few injuries and our physiotherapists are looking at that, there are knocks and bruises,” coach Yogendra Dutt said.

“It is the semi-final and knockout, whoever plays well, have the right mindset will win.

“We are training to win the semi-final not to lose against Lautoka,” he told his players during training at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

The win will add to their seventh BOG title repeating their feat in the inaugural victory in 1978, 1980, 1983, and 1986.

The side will be banking on players like Rusiate Matererega, Napolioni Qasevakatini, Waisake Tabucava, and defenders Ilimotama Jese, and veteran Ame Votoniu.

“The fans are very important in any sport, they are the people who supports and prays for the team and we look forward to their support as well.”

Historically Ba is the most successful team to claim the B.O.G 16 times followed by Rewa on 7, Nadi (5), Suva (3) and Lautoka (2).
