Losalini Baikeirewa says she continuously strives to be a woman of substance and that includes the embodiment of strong qualities that enables her to stand strong through the storms of life.

Linking this with climate change, the 22 year old Sawani, Naitasiri lass said as Fijians, Pacific Islanders and people on this globe, we should all work hand in hand to stop this rapidly changing weather conditions which have devastating effects not only on our neighboring countries but within our communities as well.

“We should try and make changes, fight against this and be pro-environment. Just like how we like to emanate positive vibes and be successful community members, our environment must also thrive, but it is unfortunate because we continue to pollute it,” Ms Baikeirewa said.

“Let’s preserve our environment and make a stand towards the fight against climate change,” she said.

Ms Baikeirewa will be representing the Savusavu Town Council in the Vodafone Hidden Paradise Savusavu Carnival.

WHAT WAS YOUR MOTIVATION FOR ENTERING THIS YEAR’S CARNIVAL?

Yes. Seeing contestants vying for the crown in carnivals and taking the stage always challenges me that one day I would be like that too.

WHO IS YOUR GREATEST INSPIRATION BY FAR? WHY?

My greatest inspiration is my mom. My mother is exactly who I want to be like in the future: kind, loving and a true epitome of a God-fearing woman. She’s an inspiration and a blessing for me and for others who know her.
