Mouton Cadet, one of the top French wine brands has entered the Fijian market through wine distributor – Victoria Wines.

Mouton Cadet is produced by Chateau Mouton Rothschild, which is one of the five first Growth Bordeaux wine brands along with Chateaux Latour, Lafite, Margaux and Haut-Brion.

The Chateau Mouton Rothschild Business Development manager Pacific Florent Bouvier launched the wine label.

Key tourism and hospitality stakeholders were at launch held at Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa on Friday night.

Mr Bouvier said, “It is an honour to put the flag in this part of the world where we have little representation.

“Fiji is a growing market with a lot of international tourism and it is time for us to be here to stay.”

He added Mouton Cadet’s talented winemakers’ work with more than 400 exclusive grape growers on Bordeaux terroir, using sustainable practices to grow healthy vines and together produce top quality grapes for the wines.

Victoria Wines Managing Director Liam Hindle, said they were thrilled to extend their portfolio to the prestigious wine label.

“This illustrates once again that despite the distance and isolation of our islands we can still offer visitors the quality and diversity of wine experience that they can enjoy anywhere in the world,” he said.

Kokomo Private Island Fiji general manager Martin Persson said, “The hospitality experience is about loading it with guest attributes with the components in driving holistic experience coming into Fiji, integrating the local culture into the environment you operating in,” he said.

“One of them is the food and the other attribute you have in Fiji is with beautiful beverages. As an experience to us, having a beautiful food is the key driver. We have abundant in local products as seafood and wine is the catalyst in delivering that experience.”

Sofitel Resort general manager Alan Burrows said, “We are a French brand and it is great to have French top brand wines in Fiji. Our customer wants variety and it is important for us to have.”
