Suva Methodist Primary School won the Teivovo Trophy for being the overall winner during the Suva Kaji Rugby Awards at Marist Brothers High School yesterday.

The Toorak-based school dominated the competition out of the 24 schools.

The school won the Plate in Under -9 grade and Cup winners in the U10 and U11 grades.

Coach Ilaitia Matanababa was also awarded the best U9-12 grade coach of 2017.

Head teacher Keni Turagabeci said the teams prepared well.

“We prepare our players physically, spiritually and mentally. Those are the three components we used to prepare our players,” he said.

“We always make sure to seek divine intervention and build our players spiritually. We dedicate this win to the Lord.

“We have hardworking coaches who trained these players mentally.
